Second Project for 2017
In July 2017 the Management of the Apeksha Hospital requested funding for 130 bedside oxygen regulators. Unfortunately SLLF(UK) did not have the funds to finance the whole project. The cost of an oxygen regulator was Rs17,000 (£95). We agreed to fund 100 regulators at a cost of £9500. A cheque was sent in late July 2017. A contingent of our committee members - John Kern, Perry and Ranjini Perera and Surangani Amaratunge visited the Apeksha Hospital in Maharagama on 2 November 2017 to inspect the completed project.
Projects Done in 2018
In summer of 2018 at the request of Apeksha Hospital SLLF UK supplied 10 infusion pumps each costing about £900 for accurate dosing of medications for cancer patients. The total cost of the project was £9000. SLLF UK also influenced The Sri Lanka Society in the UK and The Cricket Festival management to to donte additional infusion pump units to Apeksha Hospital.
