Emergency Cancer Drug Supply April 2022
Due to the prevailing situation in Sri Lanka the Director and the consultants of Apeksha Hospital requested urgent supply of life saving cancer drugs that are in short supply. The President Sirini Nizar and the committee unanimously agreed to fund £2000 worth of urgently needed life saving drugs immediately. Our new committee member Prof. Suranjit was able to negotiate with the Sri Lankan supplier to provide the requested drugs without delay.

1. Filgen 300Mcg 50 vials 1 @ LKR 6879.42 - LKR 343,971 for 50

2. Panataxel 100Mg 25 vials 1@ LKR 21,908.87 - LKR 547,721.75 for 25

Total cost LKR 891,692.75 (£2123.08)

The urgent life saving drugs requested by Apeksha Hospital were handed over to the consultant onchologist Dr Prasad Abeyasinghe by the supplier on 21st April 2022
