Sri Lanka Leukaemia Foundation in the UK (SLLF)

 

SLLF was started by the late Sriyani Peiris with Murtaza Ali, Perry and Ranjani Perera, John Kern, Surangani Amaratunga, Faiz and Sirini Nizar and Toni Bartlett in 2008 for the specific purpose of raising funds for the children's ward at the National Cancer Institute at Maharagama Sri Lanka. In the 1st year the committee members organised a fashion show and a dinner dance and raised about £5000. Since then there have been several fundraising events like an annual dinner dance, a boat dance and a garden party to raise funds and also to increase the awareness of the the SLLF in the community.
