In December 2016 the Management of Apeksha Hospital (formally known as Maharagama Cancer Hospital) requested funding for provision of an additional suite to the Endoscopy Unit as with the addition of an extra suite the output would be doubled.

The committee of the SLLF(UK) unanimously agreed to fund the building of a second suite and a cheque for £8000 was transferred to the Apeksha Hospital Account in Bank of Ceylon on 10 January 2017. Refurbishment of the old and the building of the new suite was completed in June 2017
