The Suwapeksha Project: A Landmark Public Private Partnership
The Suwapeksha project represents an extraordinary collaboration between the Ministry of Health and Ahmad Tea London. This initiative has led to the construction of a seven-story, state-of-the-art medical complex designed to set a new standard in medical care. The complex aims to serve:

-
Over 350 adult oncology patients
-
Five fully equipped operating theaters
-
A dedicated bone marrow extraction and transplant unit
-
Advanced medical and surgical intensive care units
-
A day chemotherapy unit
-
A specialized neutropenic unit for children
-
Comprehensive laundry and sterilization facilities
-
Integrated indoor and outdoor pharmacies
Building on the success of the Razavi Medical Complex, the Ministry of Health has launched the second phase of development with the "Suwapeksha" extension. Ahmad Tea London continues its vital support by managing the project and covering all consultancy and professional fees. The Ministry now seeks the support of prestigious organisations, firms, and individuals to bring this vision to life.

Upon completion, the "Suwapeksha" will enhance the National Cancer Institute (NCI) to become the region's premier facility, focusing particularly on pediatric needs and expanding services beyond those offered by the Razavi Medical Complex.

This landmark complex was inaugurated on August 3, 2016, by His Excellency President Maitripala Sirisena. The ceremony was attended by notable figures including Mr. John Kern, SLLF(UK)’s Events Coordinator from London, and Mrs. Surangani Amaratunga along with her husband Ranjith, representing Sri Lanka.
